Beau Beaumont

Beau Beaumont is a Liverpool-based sound artist and composer exploring the realms of sonic ecology, minimalism, and acousmatic exchange. Her works traverse ideas surrounding physical place, using sound, synthesis, computation, and coding as a means of connection, carving out thought-provoking and left-of-centre performances. She is one of the most distinctive and intellectually rigorous voices in contemporary UK sound art.

Beaumont has been developing her interest in synthesis, field recording, sound design, and installation-based work in unconventional locations. Her practice is deeply rooted in questions of how environments shape the listener and how listeners, in turn, shape their environments. A space can only become a place through an observer superimposing meaning, and it is precisely this threshold, between the physical and the psychological that her work so compellingly inhabits.
Her history spans commissions and performances for the Royal Opera House, the Tate Gallery, Glastonbury, BBC Radio 1, and Red Bull Music. She is also the founder of Meine Nacht and a resident on NTS Radio, both platforms that reflect her commitment to building community around experimental and electronic music. In collaboration with fellow Liverpool-based artist Steve Angstrom, Beaumont undertook a residency at Metal Culture, using modular synthesis at the core of their shared sonic research. The project addressed how post-COVID psycho-social shifts redefined familiar spaces, using field recording, touch, and electrical impulses to craft audio metaphors that are simultaneously atemporal and deeply rooted in place and time.

Beaumont has also participated in a residency at Paradise Air in Japan, further expanding her international reach. Rigorous, poetic, and consistently boundary-pushing, Beau Beaumont is an artist whose work asks us to listen not just to sound, but to the world around us.
