Jinjé

As a founding member of the Leeds-based experimental band Vessels, Jinjé (aka Lee Malcolm) is no stranger to breaking the boundaries of genre. With his solo project he delves into progressive sonic explorations that navigate between acoustic and electronic, synthetic and organic, employing a learned ear for the fusion of seemingly disparate elements. Detailed layers of ethereal texture meet punchy synth-work, shimmering pads meet broken and affected vocals, all with a deep groove and a surreal catchiness.
With a live and DJ career spanning over two decades Jinjé has many releases on various labels including: Mesh (Max Cooper's label), Ostgut Ton, Earthly Measures, Handy Records/Natural Frequencies, Messrs. Kick & Drum, Scene Unseen and his own label, Making Friends.

His live and DJ sets have led him to many places both internationally and in the UK, including numerous shows at Panorama Bar in the Berghain and many festival slots. With support from radio stations and acclaimed international acts. BBC Radio 1 / 6 Music, XLR8R and NTS to name a few. Artists such as Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, Coldcut, Gerd Janson and nd_baumecker have given continuous support. Radio DJs such as Mary Anne Hobbs (6Music), Nemone (6Music), Tom Ravenscroft (6Music), Jamz Supernova (6Music), Courtsey (NTS) and Rob Da Bank (BBC1) play his music on air.
